The Sexual and Reproductive Health Community Educator position is responsible for the planning and presentation of assigned sexual and reproductive health education programs within schools, professionals, and community agencies. The Sexual & Reproductive Health Educator's goal is to promote healthy concepts about sexuality, reproduction, contraception and sexual decision making to individuals, groups, and communities.

Excellent decision-making and facilitation skills are required as well as the ability to work independently and creatively.

The incumbent is required to practice within a culture of caring behaviourally demonstrating respect, accountability, transparency, engagement, safety, learning, and performance.
  • Baccalaureate level with post-secondary education in a health sciences or related field such as social work, education, psychology.
  • Previous experience with differing abilities clients is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with high risk youth is an asset.
  • Certification and/or experience in small group facilitation, leadership and program design.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and communicate effectively in diverse settings.
  • Well developed organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated evidence of tact, diplomacy and sensitivity to potential areas of controversy.
  • Physically able to carry program materials.
  • Valid Alberta driver's license and a car is a condition of employment for this position.
  • An excellent attendance record, reliability, and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment records and references.

    • Vehicle Required - Required to provide a vehicle for business use; along with acceptable driver's abstract and proof of business insurance
