Minimum: 20.85 per hour Maximum: 22.94 per hour
Under supervision, performs a variety of cooking duties requiring some judgment and independence which involves the use of quantity and quality control, following established procedures and standards.
  • Journeyman Cook Certificate preferred.
  • Food Safe certification required.
  • One or more years varied commercial/institutional cooking experience in quantity preparation.
  • Hospital food service experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform arithmetic skills; comprehension of metric measures.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate food service equipment.
  • Must be reliable, cooperative, neat in appearance and work habits.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe food handling and routine sanitation procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quantity cooking techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated motor coordination and dexterity.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and follow department guidelines and standards.
  • Proven record of good attendance.
