The Executive Director, Diagnostic Imaging Services - Calgary Zone is a key leadership role in the Diagnostic Imaging Services Portfolio and reports directly to the Vice President, Diagnostic Imaging Services. This position is responsible and accountable for leading an operational team in the planning, delivery and evaluation of diagnostic imaging programs and services in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services.
The Executive Director, Diagnostic Imaging Services - Calgary Zone provides direct support and expert counsel to the Vice President, Diagnostic Imaging Services and Senior Management Team on all aspects of diagnostic imaging services within designated area. This position establishes and maintains positive relationships with key local, provincial and national representatives and health care stakeholders including government departments and officials in order to provide operational leadership to and oversee all related programs and services in the province.
The Executive Director, Diagnostic Imaging Services - Calgary Zone is accountable for divisional objectives regarding implementation, operationalization, management and monitoring of provincially integrated delivery of diagnostic imaging services and quality measurement programs in the most effective, leading manner.
The Executive Director, Diagnostic Imaging Services - Calgary Zone is also responsible for: Consulting with and utilizing services of provincial support units, business units, and operational policy support units Building relationships with Diagnostic Imaging colleagues throughout Alberta Health Services Ensuring effective utilization and integration of diagnostic imaging services within communities and hospitals throughout designated area Evaluating measures that provide effective means of assessing and improving productivity Guiding and supporting operational Directors in evaluating program and service effectiveness and in exploring areas of potential improvement of services and programs Coordinating the implementation of diagnostic imaging services based on the assessed needs of the designated area and the strategic plans approved by Executive Management Ensuring accountability measures are established and outcomes of services and processes are measured Ensuring effective use of information technology to support operations Ensuring research activities with University of Calgary staff using AHS space and equipment to ensure they are monitored and supported. This includes maintaining formal research agreements, relationships with U of C, research partners and maintaining a budget recovery process for activity Educational support for clinical student placements and continuing education for the Zone DI staff Works closely with the Zone Executive Leads as an embedded department in the zone
Salary/Benefits: This position is classified as a M4-2. Minimum $123,750.00 to a maximum of $210,750.00 annually.
Masters Degree in a healthcare field or an Advanced Registered Technologist (ART) designation with additional education or a baccalaureate level in business or equivalent designation. (Preferred) Graduate from a recognized and accredited DI Diploma program(s). (Required) A minimum of 5 to 10 years in a senior leadership/management role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience an asset). A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive senior leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including experience in a senior management role in healthcare operations Successful record of achievement as a leader, including extensive experience in senior leadership of a large and diverse range of functions Uses strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing long term quality services Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and managing within a unionized sector Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, boards, committees and other partners Experience in a portfolio that included Diagnostic Imaging operations would be an asset
