The Consultant, within Survey and Evaluation Services, has the responsibility for implementing survey and evaluation projects within a large, complex healthcare organization.
Survey & Evaluation Services (SES) is a provincial team that promotes collaboration and partnership and uses best practices in program evaluation and primary data collection to support administration, staff and physicians in our shared vision to become the best performing, publically funded health system in Canada. The SES team reports to the VP, Data Integration, Measurement and Reporting (DIMR).
The Consultant position manages multiple research and evaluation projects and is responsible for: Contributing to generating knowledge to influence operational decision-making, strategic planning, program development and practice improvement. Guiding primary data collection and various research and evaluation projects from the provincial to the unit level. This includes training, budgeting, data collection, and data analysis, reporting and managing core projects. Providing guidance and coaching to both internal and external groups requesting support in quantitative and qualitative data collection, evaluation, data analysis and reporting. Conducting consultations with individuals, departments/divisions across Alberta Health Services on survey and evaluation methodologies/processes. Working with other team members to develop survey and evaluation resources (e.g., tool kit that includes questions, suggested methods, suggested instruments etc.).
Salary/Benefits: This position is classified as a P3-1. Minimum $65,250.00 to maximum $98,000.00 annually.
Minimum of an undergraduate degree from a social science, health science or other related field. Minimum of three years of experience in conducting research or evaluation related projects. Experience in conducting mix-method research and evaluations (qualitative and quantitative methodology). Experience with relevant software tools for data capture (CATI, TeleForm), data management (Excl, Access), data analysis (SPSS, Nudist) and reporting (MS word, Visio). Minimum of two years experience within healthcare-related settings. Proficiency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills to produce reports that go to clients at different levels with the organization. Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with member of the Survey and Evaluation team, clients, committees, government, public agencies and other partners.
