  • Provide leadership and impact integrated service across the care continuum to achieve improved patient outcomes, improved provider outcomes and enhances sustainable system outcomes for nursing staff on Unit 32 in collaboration with the CNE’s on Unit 32/46. Unit 46’s patient population is medicine with 5-7 ED beds.You will have a unique opportunity to work with and support a Collaborative Care Service delivery model where all care providers work to their full scope of knowledge, skills and abilities and contribute their respective knowledge to patient care in a process of continuous communication and shared decision making.
  • Provide educational support to: Registered Nurses, LPN’s, Health Care Aides, Support Staff, Patients, and Families.
  • The specific focus of the role is dependent on the vision of the program, the educational needs and the practice requirements of the area.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta registration required.
  • Current BCLS-HCP required.
  • Extensive Geriatric and Acute Medical Experience Required (2+ year’s experience in a clinical nursing position in a regional health care delivery system required, with 3-5 years preferred).
  • Professional Certifications of area required: Gerontology certification an asset, PCA certified, Central Venous Catheter and PICC Certification.
  • Recent experience in teaching/leadership role required.
  • Good understanding of Calgary Zone Advanced Technology practices and policy is an asset.

  • Superior communication and conflict management skills, including facilitation and consensus building skills.
