This is a casual position to support the day to day operations of the Urgent Care program in the Calgary Zone and provide replacement for the permanent out of scope staff as necessary for planned or unplanned absences of a prolonged nature and to provide augmentation for special projects or initiatives. The expectations would be that the casual position would have the same responsibilities and accountabilities as the permanent position during the assigned time for replacement.

The Manager (casual) Calgary Zone Urgent Care, is a key leadership role in the Rural Health & Community Facilities & Urgent Care portfolio reporting directly to the Director of South Rural Health & Community Facilities & Urgent Care-Calgary Zone. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of the Calgary Zone Urgent Care in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. These activities also will include the integration of various resources to carry out these activities. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of the Calgary Zone Urgent Care within the Rural Health & Community Facilities & Urgent Care portfolio.

The Manager (casual) will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide leadership to the Calgary Zone Urgent Care within the Rural Health & Community Facilities & Urgent Care portfolio.

The Manager (casual) is also responsible for:

o Developing/sustaining a culture which focuses on patients in all aspects of care delivery.
o Facilitating a culture that values employees and fosters respect and teamwork.
o Enhancing urgent care access to the public by collaborating with EMS partners and community providers and stakeholders.
o Facilitating the organizations capacity to deliver a safe, quality experience for clients.
o Facilitating the appropriate allocation of resources (human and financial) to ensure effective outcomes.

Leading and delivering urgent care services within an integrated and innovative service delivery model.

Salary/Benefits: This position is classified as a M2-1. Minimum $ 93,000.00 to maximum $ 139,750.00 annually.
A minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree in a health related discipline, Masters Degree preferred.

A minimum of 8 years in a health related supervisory role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience an asset).

A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
