The Medical Radiation Technologist II is responsible for the Diagnostic Imaging component of cardiac catheterization and angioplasty and Electrophysiology, circulating and assisting during procedures, and is involved in direct patient care and support.

The position is also scheduled through rotation to offer support during complex device implant cases in the operating rooms.

The position involves utilization of portable and fixed imaging equipment with emphasis on specialized cardiovascular software platforms.
  • Graduation from an approved program in Medical Radiation Technology.
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Medical and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
  • BCLS-HCP certification.
  • Recent experience ( 2 years) of general radiography.
  • Recent experience (2 years) in special procedures or Cardiac Cath Lab preferred (incl. adult, paediatric and interventional procedures).
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations, demonstrated leadership ability, excellent organization skills, work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Detailed understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology relating to device implants and manipulation of software through exposure factors for optimal image quality during complex cases, an asset.
