Reporting to the Integrated Home Care Adult Team Care Manager, the Occupational Therapist performs professional duties relating to the assessment, treatment, education and management of patients using all appropriate Occupational Therapy modalities and techniques. This position involves screening and assessing the needs of individuals and their families who cannot function independently in the community; by mobilizing and managing health and social resources required. In addition, monitors resources to ensure they improve or maintain the person’s and the families’ abilities to function.
  • Licensed by ACOT to practice in Occupational Therapy.
  • Previous community related experience a definite asset.
  • Ability to use considerable independent judgment and initiative to decide whether treatment requested is suitable for the condition and if contradictions exist.
  • Ability to provide clinical service within a continually changing health care environment.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to work on an inter-professional team.
  • Ability to monitor financial accountabilities and proven assessment skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills - be able to efficiently organize many details in a time efficient manner.
  • Proven critical thinking and decision making skills.
  • Physically able to perform all assigned tasks.
  • Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation.
  • Possession of a valid drivers’ license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work related travel. <br/>'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; ">

    • Vehicle Required - Required to provide a vehicle for business use; along with acceptable driver's abstract and proof of business insurance
