Minimum: 34.40 per hour Maximum: 45.75 per hour
Reporting to the unit manager of the Vision clinic, the Orthoptist will strive to achieve the highest level of professional conduct while keeping with the principle of family-centered care. The duties of the Orthoptist include assessment, diagnosis and treatment when indicated by community and clinic Ophthalmologists and the clinic Optometrist. The Orthoptist will work directly with the Ophthalmologists and the Optometrist on their clinic days and will participate in multi-disciplinary programs within the hospital upon request.
  • Current Orthoptist Council certification as per prevailing guidelines required.
  • Additional technical skills such as tonometry, ultrasonography, retinoscopy and perimetry would be an asset.
  • Pediatric experience required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Computer skills required; recent experience with CliniBase, scheduler and Sunrise Clinical Manager an asset.
  • Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary setting required.
