Minimum: 27.78 per hour Maximum: 34.80 per hour
Under limited supervision, the pharmacy technician performs moderately complex duties and responsibilities related to all aspects of drug distribution. Provides for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs leading to pharmaceutical care.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent required, supplemented by completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician program Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with Alberta College of Pharmacist required 2-5 years recent experience within hospital pharmacy Experience with computer medication order entry IV admixture and Compounding Certified and utilizing skills for a minimum of six months Unit dose drug distribution knowledge and experience Experience with Windows-based computer applications an asset Must have fluency in the English language, both written and verbal Typing (40 words per minute desired) desired Familiarity with operation of various office equipment, unit dose packaging equipment, pharmaceutical compounding equipment an asset Familiarity with word processing and pharmacy computer software an asset Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills desired Excellent organizational, problem-solving and decision-making ability desired Must display tact, courtesy, discretion and respect confidentiality Must be accurate, reliable, precise, cooperative, able to demonstrate effective service attitude, self-motivated Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment Clinic knowledge an asset
