Minimum: 34.31 per hour Maximum: 45.03 per hour
This position reports to the Corrections Health Services Manager at the Calgary Remand Centre. The position functions as a nurse in the context of a multidisciplinary team located within an adult correcitonal facility. The successful incumbent performs a variety of nursing duties and administers safe and effective care to the correctional population, and participates in enhanced delivery of health services (including medical, mental health and addictions) for incarcerated adults.
Current registration with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College & Association of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta is required CPR (BCLS-HCP) certification is required Two years of recent applicable nursing experience is necessary; acute care experience preferred Nursing experience in a correctional environment and/or related mental health environment is preferred Excellent medical, addiction and mental health assessment, screening and treatment skills and knowledge are required Valid Driver’s license is required Strong computer skills and knowledge are required Excellent communication skills, team work, and ability to provide care in a complex environment is required
