Minimum: 23.08 per hour Maximum: 28.07 per hour
Working with minimal supervision this position provides secretarial support to the medical staff in the Department of Pediatrics for the Calgary Zone as well as Faculty of Medicine, University of Calgary. This position requires the incumbent to use initiative and independent judgment while providing direct secretarial, organizational, administrative, and scheduling support. Daily work activities are varied and diverse and will involve communication and collaboration with team members in order to organize / maintain schedules and achieve objectives while under pressure to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities and sometimes short deadlines.
  • High School graduate, supplemented by secretarial / business courses.
  • A minimum of three years senior level secretarial experience.
  • Performs advanced computer operations, including: preparing reports, spreadsheets, data entry, basic financial accounting and other related duties.
  • Skills may include: web based applications and searches, involvement in planning, organizing meetings, preparing agendas and supplemental meeting information.
  • 60 wpm keyboarding.
  • Windows XP, Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access).
  • Medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent telephone, oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, make independent decisions and respond to the changing needs in a team, environment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with U of C peoplesoft and Research processes an asset.
  • Current Resume and Cover letter required.
