Minimum: 23.08 per hour Maximum: 28.07 per hour
Under the supervision of the Manager and Unit Manager and with guidance from the Charge Nurse, the Unit Clerk performs reception, clerical and other related duties in order to ensure the efficient operation of the unit activities.
Unit Clerk certificate from a recognized post secondary institution is required. Must have successfully completed a recognized course in medical terminology. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Current Inpatient Unit Clerk experience required. Current Surgical Acute Care Unit Clerk experience preferred.

Effectively communicates with patients, family members, unit staff and other health care professionals. Must be well organized, able to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Proven ability to provide clear communication, concise and accurate message taking. Handwriting must be neat and legible. Professional in appearance and behavior. Ability to work with minimal supervision. SCM and Clinibase experience essential.

This Unit Clerk works Day shifts Monday to Friday and therefore in collaboration with the Charge Nurse is an integral part of coordinating the flow of patients and information. The successful candidate must have demonstrated accuracy when doing tasks and in communicating information in the workplace.
