This position supports the Edmonton Zone Medical Director (ZMD) and is responsible for providing calendar scheduling, correspondence coordination and general office support as part of the team supporting the ZMD. Duties include all aspects of meeting scheduling and managing meeting conflicts; including coordinating requests to meet with the ZMD, AHS Executive, Senior Management, Medical Staff Leaders, Physicians, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, and the Alberta Medical Association. Proactively collects information required for meetings, prepares meeting packages and follows up on post-meeting items. Makes travel arrangements, processes expense claims and maintains the ZMD’s filing system according to professional (iRMIS) and AHS standards. Will also be required to schedule, organize, attend and take minutes at meetings chaired by the ZMD.

Salary/Benefits: This position is classified as a T2-1. Minimum $41,500.00 to maximum $58,000.00 annually.
Completion of Grade 12 with post-secondary secretarial and office administration certificate plus at least 3-5 years experience providing administrative support at an executive level in the health care setting. Experience with computer technologies and applications. Excellent formatting, grammar, syntax and proof-reading skills. Minimum typing speed of 70 wpm. Considerable working knowledge of Alberta Health Services’ systems and processes. Demonstrated interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to independently prioritize work and function in response to rapidly changing priorities and critical issues. Strong commitment to customer satisfaction by showing a high level of tact and diplomacy, and maintaining absolute confidentiality.
