Reporting to the Supervisor, Accounts Receivable this position is responsible for providing business office services to both external and internal customers for the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) site. This will include, but is not limited to, the abilities to count and balance deposits for parking and food services areas, prepare floats, help in the preparation of bank deposits for the armored vehicle pick up, process payments for inpatients and outpatients, complete daily balancing, process charges made on point of sale machines for the UAH site, and provide coin for various departments. This position will also provide relief to other positions within the Business Office. Strict internal controls must be adhered to in order to safeguard Alberta Health Services assets and promote accurate reporting.
Grade 12 diploma required. Minimum of two years accounting, cash handling or banking experience are required. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel is required. Knowledge of the Tandem system is an asset. Good interpersonal and communication skills are necessary as this position deals with the public. Must be able to work well independently or as a member of a team. Ability to work under pressure, ability to work in an extremely busy environment. Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds and stand for long period of time. Good organizational and time management skills a definite asset.
