Reporting to the Unit Manager for Transplant Services, the incumbent will work with all aspects of the Islet Transplant Program. Responsibilities will include: entering blood work results, incoming letters, other tests, follow-up pending action, lab completion and other related information on patients as required by Coordinators into the program database. Pulling data from these various databases for analysis or for administrative purposes. Performing receptionst duties and other clerical support duties for the program as required.
Completion of Grade 12 supplemented with a post-secondary clerical / secretarial course. Thorough knowledge of computers and various software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Scanners and Tandem). Medical terminology course is required. Minimum 60 wpm required. Two years recent hospital experience and / or medical office experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and/or experiences may be considered. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to cope in stressful situations.
