Minimum: 25.20 per hour Maximum: 30.65 per hour
Reporting directly to the Administrative Coordinator, Edmonton Zone and indirectly to the Edmonton Zone Manager, this position is a full-time appointment in Environmental Public Health of Alberta Health Services. The Records Control Supervisor is responsible for the everyday supervision of the records management staff and indirectly responsible for the record control activities of the clerical staff within the department’s Edmonton Zone offices that perform record management functions. In this unique position, the incumbent must rely on past experience in the records management field as a guide in the ongoing development of the program as well as in the development of records policy & procedure for the Edmonton Zone.
Duties include: supervising and training the file clerks; maintaining standardized operating procedures for records management; maintaining records retention and disposition schedules for Environmental Public Health; handling information requests in a timely manner (FOIP & Routine Disclosure); assisting EHOs with time sensitive requests; purchasing filing supplies and services; providing back-up and support for administrative operations including recruitment management for Records staff, e-People time entry, minute taking, answering the complaint line and inputting service requests, reception duties, and other duties as required.
Post-secondary diploma related to Records Management, Library Studies, or Archives Management and / or 10 years related work experience / equivalency in records and filing or related field. Knowledge of internal record management policy and procedures as well as legislation involving FOIP, HIA, PHA, and other acts is essential. Preference will be considered for an individual with Record Management training (for example, Government of Alberta basic and advanced courses).
Individual must have strong oral and written communication skills, computer adeptness, a commitment to providing excellent customer service, the ability to think analytically and pay close attention to detail, the ability to keep personal and sensitive information confidential, work independently and in a team environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
