Minimum: 34.26 per hour Maximum: 44.03 per hour
The successful applicant will be responsible for the supervision of other technologists and students for performing radiographic examinations of patients mainly in the Emergency Department during the hours of 0001 and 0800 hours (night shift), but also in other areas of the department using a variety of equipment and procedures. Responsibilities include:
  • high quality diagnostic images of patients in assigned area;
  • ensure a high level of patient care and safety;
  • ensure effective radiation protection and precautionary measures to avoid excessive radiation to all patients, staff and visitors;
  • actively participates in the clinical training of radiography students;
  • assist with the care and maintenance of physical facilities, equipment, accessories, and supplies;
  • ensure accuracy and completeness of all patient record information;
  • ensure awareness of alterations and improvements to equipment as well as new procedures or procedural changes to examinations; procedures and policies;
  • assume responsibility to Quality Improvement in General Imaging.

    The successful applicant must have good organizational skills to be able to maintain the workflow in a very busy Emergency Department and good communication skills with all levels of healthcare providers.
  • Graduate of a recognized and accredited school of Medical Radiation Technology with two years of training. Registered with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment. Demonstrates interpersonal and written/oral communication; proven judgment and decision making skills; demonstrates the ability to work rapidly with the attention to detail and accuracy; ability to recognize and maintain confidential information; ability to work in stressful situations with other personnel or alone. Minimum of recent three years experience in General Imaging is preferred. Must have BCLS-HCP.
