Reporting to the Care Manager, Adult and Seniors services, as part of the Intake Team, and working interdependently with a team of mental health professionals, you will use your extensive mental health knowledge and skills to screen and triage all requests for service and information. As a first point of contact for Addiction and Mental Health, high expectations exist regarding accessibility, effectiveness and appropriateness of response and decision making. Screening and triage decisions are based on clinical findings gathered from individuals and referring or collateral sources. The majority of this work is done over the telephone; however, some community visits may be required. The intake therapist must be skilled in assessing risk and providing crisis intervention while facilitating transfer of care to appropriate providers.
Candidates will have a minimum of 3 years community mental health experience, preferably in a variety and range of settings. Demonstrated experience with a variety of psychotherapies and evidence based practices in the treatment of severe and persistent mental illness is required. Experience providing group therapy is preferred. You are flexible, creative, and have demonstrated the ability to work well in a team environment. You will have a Master's in Social Work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy, or a Diploma in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing with a Degree preferred. Current registration with the appropriate professional college or association, current BCLS-HCP (Heart and Stroke Foundation Level C) , a valid driver's license and your own transportation are required. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment record and references.
