Minimum: 27.78 per hour Maximum: 34.80 per hour
Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance in all areas of drug distribution including IV admixture drug preparation, individual prescriptions, unit dose, ward stock and manufacturing specialty products. Other duties include keeping records of narcotics control and ward drugs, assisting in inventory control and purchasing, preparing statistics, handling cash and preparing financial records. This position is responsible for final product checking upon completion of the department certification process.

Successful completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician program and registration or eligible for registration with Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician are required. Previous community or hospital experience is required with preference given to individuals with two years of hospital experience. A PTSA membership is an asset. The ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and be able to distinguish routine functions with those requiring professional judgment is essential. Computer and keyboarding skills are necessary. Candidates must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Some lifting is required. Manual dexterity and visual acuity to accurately prepare pharmaceuticals is required.
