As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Charge Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care as it relates to Pediatric Rehabilitation. The incumbent assumes responsibility for daily operations and provides leadership, direction and encouragement to Staff. The Charge Nurse will supervise staff in accordance with nursing practice standards and hospital policies and procedures. The Charge Nurse will maintain open communication with the Multidisciplinary Team and the Unit Manager. The ability to work in a Family Centerd Care environment is required.
Current registration with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) and BCLS-HCP are required and to be maintained throughout employment on the Unit. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required. Experience in Pediatric Rehabilitation or Acute Care Pediatrics is Required. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and leadership skills required. Demonstrated supervisory skills required. Proven reliability/dependability required. Proven ability to work positively, effectively and cooperatively within an interdisciplinary team.
