Minimum: 34.31 per hour Maximum: 45.03 per hour
The incumbent will provide nursing care to acutely ill medical patients with multi-system problems. Interventions are based on accurate clinical assessment of the patient utilizing critical decision making skills. The incumbent assists the multi-disciplinary team in the development, implementation and evaluation of the overall care plan for each patient. Actively participates in the development and coordination of discharge planning. The position offers the opportunity for all nursing staff to work to full scope of practice. Charge Nurse duties may be required.

Current registration with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) and current BCLS-HCP taken in last 12 months are required. Graduation from an approved nursing education program required. Current IV certification is essential. Experience in Medicine is an asset.
Registered Nurses in the Medicine Float Pool work with a diverse patient population and are able to develop a well rounded knowledge base of internal medicine. A mix of experienced and newer graduates provides an exciting opportunity in an ideal environment to develop expertise, provide mentorship and develop leadership. The Medicine Program at the Royal Alexandra Hospital consists of 13 Medicine Units: 3 sub-acute and 10 acute General Medicine units, each with a designated sub-specialty such as Gastrointestinal, Pulmonary, Family Practice, Stroke, Nephrology and General Internal Medicine.
