Minimum: 34.31 per hour Maximum: 45.03 per hour
Reporting to the Manager of the Emergency Psychiatric Services, the successful applicant will be working with the adult population of Addiction and Mental Health. This position will work with the existing Addiction and Mental Health team located in the emergency department. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the Addiction and Mental Health population which requires short term and immediate bridging back to the community. The Nurse must have strong assessment skills with knowledge of community based resources that are available within the Edmonton zone.
Current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta and/or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta is required. BCLS-HCP certificate is required. Graduation from an approved nursing education program required. Working knowledge of the DSM IV TR, the Mental Health Act, Mental Status Assessment and Psychotropic medications is required. Must be proficient at IV therapy initiation and other medical procedures. Two years of recent adult psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
