Minimum: 34.31 per hour Maximum: 45.03 per hour
Working with obstetrical patients, the incumbent performs a variety of nursing duties by administering safe and effective nursing care according to Hospital policies and nursing care standards. The incumbent must demonstrate a professional attitude while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Requires a thorough understanding of the antepartum period, the labor and delivery process and the immediate postpartum period, and possesses a basic knowledge of new born assessment and breastfeeding. The incumbent will handle obstetrical emergencies and cares for high-risk women with obstetrical complications and/or medical conditions complicated by pregnancy.
Current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) and BCLS-HCP are required. Graduation from an approved nursing education program. Advanced educational studies in obstetrics, including fetal monitoring or midwifery, and a certificate in Newborn Resuscitation are required. Operating room and post-anesthetic recovery room experience is an asset.
