Minimum: 18.65 per hour Maximum: 20.35 per hour
The Service Worker is responsible for contributing to safe patient care and efficiency of the Diagnostic Imaging Department by conscientiously transporting patients and properly maintaining and handling hospital equipment and supplies.  Assists with transferring of patients to and from their bed.  Transports equipment, instruments, supplies and other related materials to and from Diagnostic Imaging department as necessary.   The Service Worker is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of equipment.
Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent and current BCLS-HCP certification is required.

Preference will be given to individuals with Diagnostic Imaging portering experience.

Must be physically fit as job requires bending, reaching, lifting and walking.  Ability to work cooperatively with both professional and non-professional staff is required.  A good command of the English language, both written and verbal, and the ability to carry out and understand instructions independently is required.

A pleasant attitude towards patients, staff and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required.  Recent Service Worker experience is desirable. 

Previous training and/or experience transporting patients in a health care institution is an asset.
