Minimum: 20.84 per hour Maximum: 25.34 per hour
Reporting to the Supervisor of Switchboard and Patient Information, the incumbent in this position processes calls, completes paging requests, responds to emergency codes, operates the overhead paging system, maintains records, troubleshoots paging equipment and performs information desk duties as required. Also provides excellent customer service, pays great attention to detail and maintains a high level of accuracy.
To qualify for this position, the incumbent will have completed Grade 12 and will have a strong command of the English language. Previous switchboard/receptionist experience is required and medical terminology preferred. Your familiarity with computer equipment will be demonstrated through a keyboarding skill test with keyboarding speed of 40 wpm required. You have the ability to work independently and to organize and prioritize tasks. Your communication and interpersonal skills enable you to maintain customer focus and respond courteously to requests for information or questions over the phone, in writing, or in person, in an accurate, clear and concise manner. You are an approachable, flexible, tactful, and reliable team member contributing to a positive work environment. Must be able to recognize and maintain confidential information.
