This position reports to the Area Manager, Addiction and Mental Health Services and is responsible for providing a variety of administrative support activities to the Mental Health Program and other related duties as assigned.

Key responsibilities include providing reception greeting clients in person and on the telephone as well as booking, cancelling and rescheduling appointments with Mental Health Therapists.

Good judgment, independent thinking and a broad knowledge of local and area resources is required as staff provide general information about AHS resources and community resources as a part of the job.

This includes a variety of general office duties - typing, filing, file creation and management and minute taking.

Entering data into databases, client information, purchasing orders, equipment inventory and payroll is an aspect of this position.

Monitoring and re-ordering general office supplies and equipment as well as providing troubleshooting related to office equipment.

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Grade 12 supplemented by Post secondary administrative/secretarial/business administration diploma/certificate.

Computer training (MS Office Suite) and advanced keyboarding skills, medical terminology, communication and crisis intervention training.

2-3 years in an office setting.  Experience working with people.

Experience dealing with confidential and sensitive information.  Experience working with people in crisis.
