The Psychologist I is responsible for the clinical assessment and treatment of patients. Duties include administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests; planning, assessing and evaluating client data; providing psychological interventions and treatments; and recording client contact, therapeutic progress and discharge summaries.
Completion of a Masters degree in Psychology from an accredited university program and registration or Provisional Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) is required. Recent experience in an acute care setting is essential. Candidates must be able to lead group therapy, provide specialized treatment for dual diagnosis and have experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational and patient care skills are required. Experience in mental health crisis intervention or equivalent is preferred.
