Length of Shift Cycle: 6 weeks

*Remote Retention Allowance: In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Reporting to Unit Manager, the Nursing Supervisor is accountable for managing capacity and patient access to the QEII Hospital by facilitating admission and transfer of patients to ensure efficient utilization of beds and quality patient care. The Nursing Supervisor assesses bed occupancy and availability and communicates directly with Emergency, Patient Registration, Nursing Units and Physicians. The position is the liaison between the QEII Hospital, RAAPID North, Seniors Health, Rural Facilities, other zones and community resources. After hours and on weekends and named holidays, the Nursing Supervisor is responsible for leadership and decision-making within the facility.

•Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred;

•If suitable candidate with Baccalaureate degree in nursing is not found, consideration will be given to candidates with 5 years recent, relevant acute care experience.

•Active registration with CARNA

•Minimum of five years clinical experience relevant to practice setting;

•Basic computer skills

•Previous management experience preferred
