Minimum: 21.47 per hour Maximum: 26.10 per hour
Working under the general supervision and guidance of the Supervisor, HIM, Central, North Zone, this position performs a variety of clerical duties:

Interviewing patients/parents to obtain correct demographic information
Entering information on the ADT computer system
Completing registrations and admissions
Collects hospital fees for uninsured and out of country services
Balancing cash in Meditech  
Bank deposits
Answering telephones, greeting the public, and directing individuals accordingly
Monitoring Security and Alarms
Scheduling Staff for Patient Registration
Scheduling and Booking Clinical Programs and Specialty Clinics

Incumbent is expected to embrace and work within AHS values and principles.
 
Full Time and Part Time staff will be working a rotation/schedule which has the potential to be changed due to needs of HIM to meet minimum staffing requirements. Casual positions are required to work Evening, Weekend Day or Evening shifts for sick or vacation relief, as needed to ensure the minimum staff levels for Patient Registration are met.
Experience in client registration, accounts receivable, and Meditech preferred
Grade 12 or equivalent required.
Medical Terminology required.
Experience in a health care or medical office setting preferred.
Prior experience working with the public an asset.
Excellent knowledge of the English language both written and oral.
Maintains a professional image and demonstrated ability to remain calm, courteous, sensitive and tactful.
Accurate and proficient keyboarding skills of 40-50 wpm required.
Demonstrated proficiency of Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel and Access).
Demonstrated ability to work well under stress.
Ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
Skilled at paying close attention to detail.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Equipment troubleshooting - Printers, Photocopier, Computer.
