Minimum: 23.77 per hour Maximum: 28.91 per hour
The incumbent will be part of a multidisciplinary team and act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Leduc Community Hospital and AHS as a unit clerk for the patient care areas of Pre-admission Clinic, Day Surgery, Endoscopy, Cardiac Stress Testing, Pediatrics and General Medical Clinics. The Unit Clerk is responsible for managing the telephones, greeting and directing visitors, patients and allied health professionals, and for managing patient records and charts. Duties include but are not limited to reception, chart preparation, booking appointments, physician orders, arranging transportation and assisting with the overall efficient functioning of the department. Other clerical support includes collecting and distributing mail, entering payroll and data, staffing, preparing forms and requisitions and maintaining supplies.
A Unit Clerk certificate with practicum component from a recognized post secondary institution is required.
Demonstrated proficient computer skills essential with current knowledge and experience with software programs such as Excel, Word, ESP, VAX, Outlook and Netcare. E-clinician an asset.
OR booking with PICIS knowledge an asset.
Demonstrated high functioning time management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions in a fast paced and changing environment.
Demonstrated positive and effective interpersonal communication skills required.
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and independence in a team atmosphere.
Flexibility to meet staff needs required.
Demonstrated ability to work well with team members.
Able to handle change effectively.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
