Reporting to the CRH Site Manager and under the Supervision of the Accession Department CLXT II, this position provides technical and clerical functions primarily in Lab Accession. Basic duties include; specimen collection, processing, sorting and delivery to test areas as well as data entry.
Graduates of an accredited MLA day program; Successful completion of a Phlebotomy, medical terminology, and specimen accession courses are an asset. Equivalencies of experience and course work will be considered.
Experience in a laboratory hospital setting is an asset and Lab Accession experience is an asset.
Excellent phlebotomy skills required.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload as well as work under pressure.
Strong computer and keyboarding skills is an asset.
Candidate must possess the ability to work independently as well as in a group setting.
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with patients and other healthcare providers are required.
Demonstrates and promotes the AHS values of Respect, Accountability, Transparency, Engagement, Safety, Learning and Performance.
The position may require work at other CHR Laboratory locations or may be required to perform mobile lab collections.
Valid Alberta Drivers license is required.
