The Contracting Coordinator works as part of a team and reports to the Director for Community & Continuing Care Contracts. The position requires significant contact with multi-faceted client and stakeholder groups. The incumbent provides centralized consultation with a provincial perspective on Community & Continuing Care service contracting and procurement matters to AHS zone and provincial staff, service providers and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include providing provincial support to the competitive process for awarding contracts, negotiating service and financial specifications for contractual agreements, reviewing proposals and providing recommendations, and monitor and evaluating service agreements. The incumbent acts independently, uses effective written and verbal communication skills, makes decisions and demonstrates sensitivity, discretion and tact.
The position is inclusive of the following roles and responsibilities: Provide consultation and support to AHS zone and provincial departments with regards contract initiation, development and sourcing strategies. Facilitate communication with AHS stakeholders and service providers. Contribute to corporate decision-making and planning. Responsible and accountable for deliverable for assigned tasks within defined time lines. Assists with the development and maintenance of an overall project plan for sourcing initiatives, with timely completion and effective outcomes. Participates in meetings with key internal and external stakeholders. Coordinates the development of recommendations, reports and briefings for AHS Executive and other stakeholders as appropriate. Responds to key stakeholders' information requests through pre-defined channels. Provides consolidated status reports for the project team and AHS management. Advanced competency in computer software programs and applications, database experience and demonstrated strong aptitudes for both business and technology. Working across multiple areas this position is requires effective communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to understand and conceptualize from a systemic perspective. Assessing the needs and providing input into the development of and implementation of strategies that support Clinical - Services Contracting in achieving its goals. Utilizes leadership, team building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to build partnerships.
Salary/Benefits: This position is classified as a P2-1. Minimum $55,000.00 to maximum $77,000.00 annually.
Post Secondary education in Business or related health care field. Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in purchasing and contract management in a health care setting or in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Equivalencies may be considered. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Excellent written & verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. Ability to relay or explain complex issues, sound logic, negotiation and conflict resolution skills are an asset. Demonstrated ability to foster relations and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
