Education Consultant, Quality Enhancement in Continuing Care

10 shifts per 2 week cycle Monday - Friday

Job Summary:

Through the Quality Enhancement in Continuing Care Grant Project and reporting directly to the Director, Quality Outcomes, Seniors Health, the Education Coordinator will develop, coordinate and deliver educational resources to AHS staff and Contracted Service Providers and is responsible for knowledge transfer based on adult education principles.


  • Engage in knowledge transfer activities using a variety of modalities including in-services, workshops, etc. as well as supporting the implementation of the knowledge into practice.
  • Understand and apply adult education principles and practices, principles of change management, team building, coaching and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with other Education Coordinators as a team to develop and deliver educational materials.
  • Use coaching and mentoring to develop staff capacity to provide continuing education.
  • Seek out and use best practice evidence, data and expert counsel in the development, delivery, and coordination of educational activities.
  • Continually analyze the change process and make necessary adjustments to maximize effectiveness.
  • Enhance relationships with key stakeholders using a flexible, customer focused approach that promotes quality care and improvement.
  • Provincial travel will be required.


  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective methods of education delivery.
  • Recent experience as an educator and proven facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of adult learning.
  • Experience in educational program delivery and measurement of learning outcomes.
  • Excellent computer skills including expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and Power Point.
  • Experience using web-based technology for providing education.
  • Adult Education degree or certification.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach staff.
  • Creative, flexible, well-organized and demonstrated systems thinker.
  • Proven ability to build and foster reciprocal relationships.
  • Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • Vehicle Required - Required to provide a vehicle for business use; along with acceptable driver's abstract and proof of business insurance
