Reporting to the Director, Clinical Engagement Strategies & Initiatives, and under the direction of the Executive Director, Clinical Engagement, the Planning Consultant (PC) / Project Manager (PM) is a professional position working independently and in concert with the Director and Senior Consultant to support the implementation of an organizational approach for clinical engagement in priority areas. May be required to support other quality initiatives within the department.

The PC/PM executes and manages clinical engagement initiatives/projects and facilitates engagement of various stakeholders including clinical staff, physician leaders, and front-line and senior leaders to build consensus that leads to intended results and efficient and effective clinician engagement. The role provides consulting and change management expertise and advice on clinical engagement in provincial priority areas. The PC/PM applies service design, change management and process improvement principles to projects/initiatives and uses various tools and models to ensure initiatives are scoped and progressively designed in alignment with intended results.

Please note that this is a provincial position and can be located in either Edmonton or Calgary.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a health related field with 3-5 years experience in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.
  • Master’s degree in a health related area and/or business or equivalent preparation is preferred.
  • Equivalencies will be considered.
  • Clinician candidates must hold current professional license.

    In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas:
  • Knowledge of the healthcare system and best and leading practices applicable to Clinical Engagement.
  • Team leadership skills including the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
  • Experience in problem-solving, concerns resolution, investigation and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Performance improvement and/or system design training is preferred.
  • Experience working with clinicians is preferred.
  • A demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development.
  • Effective communication and strong organizational skills, influential skills, a client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services.
  • Certificate and/or education in change management is preferred.
  • Certificate and/or education in project management is preferred.
