The purpose of the Unit Clerk role is to facilitate the coordination of activity and information on the nursing unit in order to meet the needs of clients in an effective manner. This activity and information may be related to clients, families and staff, as well as financial and material management. The Unit Clerk is required to perform complex and specialized clerical duties that require extensive knowledge of the department, organization, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Recognized Unit Clerk course or equivalent experience/education
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Proficient use of medical terminology
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-direct and excellent time-management skills
  • Senior Matriculation from High School
  • An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment references
