The Acute Care Unit Manager will report to and assist the Site Manager in ensuring the provision of high quality and safe patient care in Acute Care/OR /ER at Stettler Hospital and Care Centre. As part of the leadership team, the Acute Unit Manager will work with the Site Manager and the multidisciplinary team in ensuring a team environment; participate in new initiatives. Coordinates clinical activities including providing day to day direction to the staff working on the unit, daily assignment of patients, staff scheduling, multidisciplinary rounds, identifying and attempting to resolve patient and staff concerns, and participating actively in the discharge planning process. Identifies issues, resolves them where possible and communicates them to the appropriate team member. The incumbent is responsible for efficient use of fiscal, human, and material resources and provides leadership to the front-line staff.

Salary/Benefits: This position is classified as a M2-2. Minimum $84,750.00 to maximum $ 127,250.00 annually.
Current CARNA registration, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - Healthcare Provider Registration required. 3 to 5 years of current, recent and relevant Acute Care, Medicine/Surgery/OBS /ER nursing experience is required. A positive and enthusiastic attitude is required, as is a willingness to actively tackle new challenges. A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required. A minimum of 1-2 years supervisory experience is required. Management experience preferred. Exposure to community care options and discharge planning an asset. The successful candidate must have a proven record of demonstrating skills in leading teams, developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, and team building; as well as organizational, analytical judgment, change management and decision making skills; effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated clinical expertise is required to make quick decisions in a very busy care setting. Must have the ability to function as a team member. Computer skills in Microsoft word, and epeople.
