Minimum: 24.44 per hour Maximum: 32.00 per hour
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) utilizes the nursing process as a member of, and in collaboration with, the interdisciplinary team in the delivery of consistent quality care to meet the needs of the client through the life span.

The LPN participates in the provision of health care to clients by applying nursing knowledge, skills and judgment to assess client needs and providing nursing care for clients.

The Licensed Practical Nurse accepts responsibility for continuing competency through ongoing professional development, including participation in education programs, research and continuous quality activities.

The incumbent must follow Nursing standards/protocols as required in area of nursing specialty related to the job assignment. Basic nursing care procedures. Must have scope of practice as defined by the college. Balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities. Work within a team environment and to effectively contribute to client planning processes. Ability to work with others to identify and implement areas for improvement in service delivery and client outcomes.
  • Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nurse program; LPN required.
  • Responsible to maintain and provide proof of active registration with CLPNA.
  • BCLS-HCP required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited post-basic study program as required within the scope of the assigned position desired.
  • At least one year relevant nursing experience.
  • Alberta Health Services hires new graduates with the required educational requirements as above.
