Minimum: 17.78 per hour Maximum: 19.42 per hour
Under supervision of the Working Leader and/or Manager, this position provides a clean and safe environment for staff, patients and visitors. The position performs routine and heavy cleaning, disinfecting or sterilizing of public, patient, resident and office areas while following Housekeeping Standards and Guidelines. This position must be independent and able to use judgement for workload prioritizing and multi-tasking decisions as a Working Leader and/or Manager is not always available. This position may require performing other related duties as needed.
Grade 10 required, grade 12 desired. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, methods and industrial cleaning equipment. Previous experience in Health Care cleaning an asset. Successful completion of a Basic Housekeeping Program an asset. Knowledge of WHMIS. Effective communication skills must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language. Must be reliable, flexible, cooperative and neat in appearance and work habits. Must be able to take direction, and follow document procedures. Must be dependable, thorough and be able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Must be capable of bending, kneeling and lifting and pushing heavy and bulky items. Must show initiative and resourcefulness to set priorities and organize the time delivery of services and supplies.
