Minimum: 24.44 per hour Maximum: 32.00 per hour
  • The Licensed Practical Nurse LPN provides safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards.
  • Working within the full scope of practice, the LPN observes, monitors, reports, and documents changes in the patient's physical, mental, and emotional state, assists the patient with activities of daily living and provides the patient and family with relevant information and teaching.
  • The LPN is responsible to collaborate as a member of the health care team, delivering consistent quality care, to meet the needs of the Patient.
  • Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta and BCLS-HCP are required.
  • Successful completion of an approved Practical Nursing/ LPN education program.
  • Previous experience as an LPN is desirable.
  • Current adult experience and/or evidence of ongoing professional development related to adult care.
  • Computer experience is preferred.
  • The ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential.
  • A philosophy of Family Centered care.
  • The candidate must be able to work within a team environment and to effectively contribute to patient/client planning processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, a compassionate and caring attitude, and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Self directed individual with a positive attitude, and demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills evidenced by performance appraisals, reference checks and interview participation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, to provide quality care and to report observations.
  • Experience in Acute Care within the past three years preferred.
  • An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment references.
  • Must be physically able to handle job requirements.
  • Ability to work shift work.
