As a member of the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre pharmacy team, you will have the opportunity to provide high quality direct patient care and work with pharmacy technicians working to their full scope of practice. Our pharmacists work in a multidisciplinary environment, where they have the opportunity to provide specialized and general medicine care to patients. Our department places an emphasis on the training of pharmacy students and expects our pharmacists to participate in the training of our new professionals. The department strongly supports professional development, and provides educational funding and work days to facilitate pharmacist growth.
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required. Licensed, or eligible for licensure, with the Alberta College of Pharmacists. Active membership of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists; hospital pharmacy residency; prior hospital experience or active in a direct patient care role; ability to work effectively both in a team environment as well as independently; ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care.

As outlined in article 29.05 of the Collective Agreement between the Health Sciences Association of Alberta and the Provincial Health Authorities of Alberta, experience, performance and qualifications applicable to the position shall be the primary consideration in selecting an applicant.
