Provincial Mental Health Care oversees and advances Alberta's mental health system. We serve in an advisory capacity to government and work with public and private organizations to address system-wide mental health priority issues that span national, provincial, regional and organizational boundaries.

It is having meaningful and positive interactions with people and the environment, being able to adapt to change and cope with adversity, and finding a balance in all aspects of life – mental, physical, emotional, social and spiritual. In short, there is no health without mental health.

Our mission is to provide strategic, fiscally responsible leadership in advancing mental health with our partners in the following areas:

• Service and policy framework development
• Evaluation

Provincial Mental Health Care works in partnership with government, government ministries, health zones, consumer and care groups, professional groups and associations, the corporate sector, universities and colleges to advance mental health in Alberta.

Provincial Mental Health is mandated by and reports to the Minister of Alberta Health and Wellness. We have a multi-year performance agreement with Alberta Health and Wellness.
